Kindness Okorie, better known by her stage name Korie, is a talented Nigerian artist born on June 13, 1998, in Lagos. Hailing from Imo State, Korie has become a rising star in the music industry, blending pop and Afro-fusion genres to create her unique sound.

Korie's musical journey began at a young age when she started singing at just five years old. By the age of six, she had already started writing her own songs, showcasing an innate talent for composition. However, it wasn't until 2016, at the age of 18, that Korie decided to learn the guitar. Despite not having the funds to purchase one, her determination led her to draw a makeshift guitar on a large sheet of paper and teach herself how to play via online tutorials on YouTube.
It wasn't until the age of 19 that Korie was finally able to buy her first guitar, continuing her self-taught journey through the online platform. In addition to mastering various guitar techniques, Korie also honed her vocal skills by taking lessons through YouTube tutorials.
In 2017, Korie's career took a significant turn when she met Alfred H., who became her manager. The following year, she obtained her BSc degree at the young age of 20 in 2018. Shortly after, Korie had her first experience in a recording studio in October 2018, and in 2019, she released her first studio-recorded song, titled "Ife" (Love).
Korie quickly gained traction, with "Ife" receiving over 30,000 engagements on Twitter within a month of release. In March 2019, she embarked on her first radio interview with Family FM in Abeokuta, Ogun State, marking another milestone in her career. Later that same year, Korie released her first EP, titled "This is Korie Vol. 1," consisting of four tracks. The EP was distributed by FreeMe Digital in Lagos, Nigeria.
In February 2020, Korie performed in her first solo show, titled "An Evening With Korie," followed by signing a marketing, publishing, and licensing deal that same year with MPATH MUSIC & APM MUSIC, based in Hollywood, California, USA. The deal allowed for the redistribution of her first project in October 2021 and saw the project being selected among the top 10 editors' picks for the month out of over 2000 other albums released monthly by APM MUSIC a subsidiary of Sony/ Universal Music Production.
With her sophomore EP released in February 2022, Korie continued to make waves in the music industry. Her song "Unstoppable" was featured in a commercial for the PGA Reach program in America, emphasizing the impact of the sport of golf. Additionally, one of her songs titled "Foe" found its way into the TV series "Epicerie" in Romania and Canada.
In March 2023, Korie secured a spot among the top 10 performers out of over 1,500 participants at the Vis-a-Vis Espana Concert, organized by the Spanish Embassy in Nigeria and the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation. This event, attended by distinguished figures such as the Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, DG of Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation, and PMAN President, further showcased Korie's talent.
Korie has also garnered international attention, with her song "Drop Every Fear" featured in the UK TV series "Operation Ouch" in 2023. Her music has been sought after globally, as indicated by a report from ASCAP stating that her songs have already reached 12 countries for potential sync deals.
Throughout her journey, Korie has had the opportunity to share her story and perform on numerous radio and television platforms, including Family FM, Naija FM, Inspiration FM, Classic FM, Nigeria Info, Lagos Talk FM, Hi-Impact TV, Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Bisi Olatilo TV (Biscon), and Television Continental (TVC), all based in Lagos, Nigeria.
